I'm Jesse van der Kolk and I’m a film director, writer, and producer based in Amsterdam, with a second base in Los Angeles. My work encompases fiction, documentary, virtual reality and commercial projects.

I graduated from the University of Amsterdam with an MA in Media Studies, specialising in scriptwriting and editing.

My debut film Out of Focus premiered in the Debut Competition at the Nederlands Film Festival in 2019. In 2022, I was selected for Playlab Film’s Apichatpong Weerasethakul Lab: Filming in the Amazon. In 2023, I took part in TorinoFilmLab Next and the Holland Film Meeting at the Nederlands Film Festival with my in-development feature film Another Green World.

In 2024, I explored intuitive and sensory approaches to filmmaking during a creative residency at CINE:MACA in Amsterdam.

I’m also the co-founder of No End Cinema, an Amsterdam-based production company committed to crafting meaningful and visually resonant work.
